Purchase Options
Our price list is designed with flexibility and fairness in mind. It can prove to be a little daunting - but don't worry; we
offer several tools to help you figure out the price for the services you want:
Our service wizard is designed with the digital music neophyte in mind. Not sure what you want,
or why you would want it? Our service wizard will ask you a series of questions and then make some suggestions on what might work well
for you. Don't worry, it's painless and with zero pressure to buy!
Our service packages gives the busy music lover their very own express lane. Each service package
give you access to our most common combinations of services. Simply choose a service and and tell us the number of CDs and the encoding
format you want. You can be on your way to freeing your music collection in a matter of a few minutes.
Our a la carte option allows you to pick and choose every option we offer separately. If you can't
find what you want with this service, please contact us and we will do our best to hook you up with
your heart's desire (for digital music!)
Please note that each of these tools will provide the same price if equivalent services are selected (in other words they all use the same
price list and none of them add a surcharge for use).
Price ListPrices are effective as of 2004-11-20 and are reviewed on a regular basis ;
- Please be sure to specify a DVD media format compatible with your equipment.
- If you prefer we will organize by artist and album only (artist genres are as determined by the third party CD database we use)
- Lossless encoding (and our DIY service) is only available with DVD media
- If you select the resurfacing service FYCD will resurface up to 10% of the CDs provided before contacting you to authorize additional cost
- To order the DIY service you must also order a Lossless encoding format of WAV. You will receive transcoding software that supports
two encoding formats of your choice. Additional formats are available for purchase seperately.
Shipping & Handling
Shipping is calculated at the time of checkout and is provided to you at cost. There are three shipments:
- We ship you custom packing materials
- You ship us your CDs using the pre-paid labels we provide
- We ship you your CDs and your digital music on the media of your choice
All shipping includes $12 per CD insurance. We make no money on the shipping costs and we levy no handling charges.
Terms of Service
- Customers must be the owner of the CDs they provide. FYCD reserves the right to not process 1 or more CDs if FYCD has reason to believe the customer is not the owner.
- FYCD will attempt to repair CDs (through jitter correction and optionally with resurfacing) but any CDs that FYCD is unable to read will
still be included in the charge.
- CDs are insured for a maximum value of $12. Additional shipping insurance may be purchased by the customer direct from the carrier,
however CDs in FYCD's care will still be insured for a maximum of $12.
- FYCD will charge 20% of the estimated service charge at the time of order. FYCD will also charge for shipping to/from us at the time of order.
This is non-refundable.
- Once the CDs are received and processed FYCD will calculate the exact charge and collect payment from the customer for the balance due.
Once payment is received the CDs and digital music collection will be returned to the customer.
- If no balance of payment is received within 30 days then the CDs will be returned to the customer without the digital music collection.
- Customers who purchase the DIY service must not use the provided software for commercial purposes to compete with FYCD
- Customers who purchase the resurfacing service will be advised that their final bill could be higher (depending on the number of damaged
CDs received).
- Customers who select the backup service and subsequently request a CD from the backup will be asked to confirm that they are still the owner
of the requested CD.
- FYCD is not responsible for format incompatibilities with the Customer's intended usage. However FYCD reserves the right to take one of
the following actions (at their discretion):
- If the Customer used the Service Wizard FYCD may reencode and reship the media at FYCD's expense
- FYCD may reencode and reship the media with shipping costs to be covered by the Customer.
- FYCD may reencode and reship the media with shipping costs and an Additional Format service charge to be covered by the Customer.
Customers will be asked to accept these terms during the order process.
